A core member of the platform team tasked with driving accelerated growth for the strategic ingredients of the platform. The Global Marketing Director, Sweeteners and Fibers drives the future positioning for the ingredients within the platform and the platform as a whole in the market, to work collaboratively with the Portfolio, Incubation and Commercial Innovation teams alongside the technical team and regions to deliver on growth plans. The role will help set the

platform strategy, drive the marketing and communication plan for the ingredients within the platform, while working alongside the solutions marketer to drive sugar reduction and fortification solutions and more, to drive synergies and cross platform growth.

This role will leverage product and category insights to fuel future growth and NPD and evolve value propositions. Develop the positioning for the platform and the ingredients/solutions within it. Will work alongside the technical teams, particularly with nutrition, regulatory, applications and sensory – to fully leverage the portfolio and define the strategy and execute against it. Develop central campaigns and collateral to build or launch ingredient brands and propositions globally.

The role works with the marketing CofE and the regional marketing teams to ensure a consistent proposition for T&L in the market. Our customers are the key audience (with the end consumer in mind), along with key opinion leaders for sweeteners and fibers, healthcare professionals, and regulatory bodies. A key member of industry groups’ communications teams, bringing the T&L strategy to the fore with industry partners. Creation of new brands, responsible

for all platform/product related content and collateral. Work alongside corporate comms and CofE marketing team to create end to end communication for the platform through digital and social media, leading the creation of our 360 support for the ingredient solutions at every touchpoint.

Accountabilities

  • Defines, and executes against, Sweeteners and Fibers Marketing strategy and annual plan
  • Plans and leads Sweeteners and Fibers Marketing initiatives (including related solutions development, such as sugar reduction, fortification), owning the budget and ROI/KPIs
  • Owns, develops and communicates Value Propositions for Platform and related solutions (including full training collateral and customer facing materials)
  • Supports cross platform and solutions team to develop global Chassis “deployment” packages, creating (internal training and external communication) assets
  • Identifies and prioritizes future potential sweetener and fiber spaces, leveraging consumer, market and competitor insights
  • Promotes communication for the platform and ingredients internally and externally
  • Connects with Brand Excellence team to leverage the platform under the T&L Brand narrative, works with the Corporate Comms team for seamless communication leveraging nutrition, sensory, regulatory, sustainability and other T&L functional experts to strengthen the platform/product propositions.
  • Leads the sweetener and fiber marketing group to develop brands, ingredient
  • propositions and ingredient reputation management (in partnership with industry leaders and organizations)
  • Develops key relationships with largest sweetener and fiber users in the industry to evolve the positioning, communication and equity of those ingredients globally (ex. Calorie Control Council, Coca Cola, Nestle)

Requirements

  • 15+ Years of experience in marketing, within a nutrition or ingredient/food and beverage industry environment
  • Ideally experience in both B2B and B2C environments
  • Must have shown creativity, delivery focus, ability to collaborate, leadership
  • Knowledge of nutrition and food & beverage industry is a must
  • Experience with healthcare professional or nutrition science related marketing is valuable
  • Ability to mine data for insights, leading to NPD and use of VOC to validate ideas
  • Experience in creating and building new markets, communication and content creation, digital marketing, creation of engaging customer experience, ability to create customer stories using insights, data, ingredient knowledge
  • Global mindset, ability to engage with major food and beverage customers and our local teams, with a balanced mix of commercial and technical understanding

Tate & Lyle complies with all local/state regulations requiring salary range transparency.

When determining final compensation, we take into consideration: skillset, job scope, knowledge, prior experience, cost of living, market data, budget availability, and other factors as permitted by law.

The pay range for this position is: $167,000 - $240,000.
