Overview
The Materials Handler I will be tasked with receipt, inventory management, and warehousing of patients samples and materials used in Myriad’s laboratory process. This position will also perform all outgoing shipping of patient results and testing kits from the Myriad facility. The Materials Handler I will provide general operational support to Laboratory Operations, in particular to the Supply Chain team.
Responsibility
1. Responsible for the receipt of all incoming FedEx, UPS, DHL, and Marken shipments into Myriad’s facility and into the Oracle Cloud system
2. Responsible for daily dock scanning of 1000+ patient samples into Myriad’s LIMS system.
3. Responsible for the outgoing shipping of 500+ patient reports daily
4. Daily sorting and delivery of all mail and incoming packages to onsite labs and staff.
5. Fulfillment of daily sample test kits for overnight delivery to testing providers
6. Responsible for all outgoing shipping, including the return of patient samples to providers when necessary.
7. Understand all shipping procedures used at Myriad.
8. Ability to use FedEx/UPS/DHL/etc. shipping systems.
9. Good communication and good documentation practices.
10. Follow all departmental and company procedures and processes
Qualifications
1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs
3. Basic computer skills
4. Ability to work in team-oriented environment while being able to finish assignments independently
Physical Requirements
Lifting Requirements – medium work or exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, 20 pounds of force frequently, and 10 pounds of force consistently. Physical Requirements – stationary positioning, moving, operating, ascending/descending, communicating, observing, reaching, and repetitive motion. Use of equipment and tools necessary to perform essential job functions. Hazards and Atmospheric Conditions – exposure to fumes, dust, extreme temperatures, wet and/or humid, noise, vibration, mists or gases, mechanical hazards, chemical hazards, electrical hazards, and radiant energy hazards. OSHA category II – normal routine involves no exposure to blood, body fluid, or tissue, but exposure or potential for exposure may occur.
