As a part of the OptumCare network, Riverside Medical Group is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to join our growing team in New Jersey.

Location: 449 Mt Pleasant Ave West Orange, NJ 07052

Office hours: 40 hours per week. Monday 8:00am - 5:00pm, Tuesday 8:00am - 8:00pm, Wednesday 8am - 3:00pm, Thursday 8:00am - 7:00pm, Friday 8:00am - 4:00pm, Saturday 8:00am - 2:00pm

Specialties: Cardiology, Primary Care, and Gastroenterology

Primary Responsibilities

  • Prepare examination rooms and sterilize medical equipment
  • Room patients, obtain health history, check vital signs and perform EKG’s
  • Administer injections and collect specimens
  • Document patient care using electronic medical record software
  • Schedule appointments, complete prior authorizations, process medication refills, handle referrals, answer calls and complete paperwork as needed
  • Assist physicians, nurse practitioners or physician assistants with minor, in-office procedures

Required Qualifications

  • Medical Assistant certification
  • 1+ years of Medical Assistant experience
  • Demonstrated computer literacy
  • Ability to work M-F and two Saturdays per month (hours vary)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Epic EMR
  • Bilingual

The hourly range for this role is $16.00 to $28.85 per hour based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
