- Position Summary
- Responsible for performing quality assurance testing and calibrations on all radiotherapy simulation and treatment equipment. Reviews patient records and dosimetry calculations and performs SRS and HDR treatment planning. Advises the radiation oncologists, therapists, and dosimetrists regarding technical aspects of patient treatments.

- Previous experience as a Medical Physicist preferred.
- Education
- Master’s degree in Medical Physics required.
- Certifications/Licensure
- Board Eligible or certified by the American Board of Medical Physics or the American Board of Radiology as a Physicist required.

- The duties listed below are a summary of the major essential functions of this position. The position may require other duties, both major and minor, that are not mentioned, and specific functions may change from time to time.
- Responsible for the systematic measurement, documentation, and assurance of the physical and dosimetric aspects of all radioactive sources/radiation producing equipment used in Radiation Oncology. Performs acceptance testing and commissioning of all treatment-related equipment under supervision. This includes calibration of all radiation producing sources and maintenance of all information for their appropriate use.
- Provides clinical physics support to the Department of Radiation Oncology, including daily operation, development and maintenance of departmental policies/procedures, assessment and acquisition of new technologies, protocol enrollment, etc.
- Provides and performs treatment planning for selected modalities (primarily intracranial SRS/SRT and HDR brachytherapy).
- Provides ongoing physics chart review (initial, weekly, and end-of-treatment checks).
- Participates in weekly Physics/Dosimetry meetings and continuous quality improvement activities.
- Provides Physics support for selected simulation and treatment activities (primarily SRS/SRT/SBRT).
- Provides Radiation Oncologists with special physics consultations and advises physicians on special treatment procedures and clinical treatment setups.
- Performs HDR Brachytherapy Planning and treatment oversight.
