GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB: Is responsible for supporting departmental activities to include Credentials, Education, Advance Practice, and CME. Serves as a resource to and collaborates with others to advance the quality of practitioners and patient safety. Provides support and assistance for other medical staff services activities including credentialing functions, meeting facilitation and support, database management and data entry. Maintain Confidentiality of all departmental functions/task which is a key responsibility.

- Supports Credentialing department with initial and reappointment credentialing for eligible practitioners
- Applies clearly defined credentialing and privileging processes to all practitioners/providers
- Determines applicant’s initial eligibility for membership/participation and initial privileging criteria
- Determines reapplicant’s eligibility for membership/participation and maintenance of privilege criteria
- Obtains and evaluates information from primary and secondary sources
- Recognized, investigates, and validates discrepancies and adverse information obtained from the application primary source verifications and other sources
- Verifies and documents expirables using acceptable verification sources to ensure compliance with accreditation and regulatory standards
- Collaborates with physician leaders and administrators
- Assigns completed files to the applicable department and advanced practice reviewers
- Analyzes application and supporting documents for completeness and informs applicants and reapplicants of the application status including the need for additional information
- Adheres to hospital policies and procedures.
- Performs and coordinates meeting logistics, agenda, calendar invites, and transcribes meeting minutes
- Demonstrates business practices and personal actions that are ethical and adhere to corporate compliance and integrity guidelines.
- Performs other duties as delegated/assigned
- Must have reliable transportation as travel to other locations is required upon request.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE :
- 3-5 years’ experience in hospital and/or CVO credentialing.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Bachelors degree preferred.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS.
- Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) Certification through NAMSS required within 2 years of hire or promotion.
- Must have a clear unrestricted Driver’s License
