As an Assistant Coordinator, you will be responsible for training, supervising, and evaluating our custodial staff. You will also work with our facilities operations team and industry experts to ensure efficient and effective custodial services Essential Duties and Responsibilities: - Design and conduct training for new custodial hires - Assess and propose equipment needs for custodial and maintenance tasks - Inform new custodial hires about workplace safety and company policies - Communicate and demonstrate housekeeping standards to the rest of the staff - Establish sustainable housekeeping standards in collaboration with the team - Set goals, observe performance, and assess custodians' performance - Inspect the quality of custodial work to ensure it meets standards - Research and collaborate with industry experts to improve housekeeping methods - Evaluate the performance of custodial staff and building engineers - Coordinate summer cleaning programs and train summer staff - Coordinate district-wide custodial staff trainings - Maintain facility maps for maintenance purposes - Use preventive maintenance software to ensure standards are met - Communicate expectations and train custodial staff on preventative maintenance - Direct special services teams such as paint crew and carpet installation crew - Assist in maintaining painting and carpet replacement schedules - Post job openings, screen candidates, and hire custodial staff - Organize regular meetings with building engineers to strengthen collaboration - Perform other similar duties as assigned Qualifications: - High school diploma or GED - Skills in planning, designing, and delivering training - Strong written and oral communication skills - Ability to supervise and assess performance - Collaborative problem-solving skills - At least eight years of experience in housekeeping and equipment management - At least five years of management experience or a combination of college degree and relevant experience Physical Requirements: - Must be able to perform all physical activities required of a custodian - Capable of working in confined spaces - Capable of working at heights License/Certification: - First Class Boilers with a chief boilers license within three years - CPO certification within one year - EPA underground tank certification preferred within one year Salary: View salary grids on Pages 3-4, Section 1 of the Management Personnel I-M agreement.
