We have an opportunity for a NPD Engineer to join our Hanover Park, IL team. You will lead engineering design projects for our Commercial Filtration Solutions category. This role is responsible to Discover, Develop and Deploy new product designs that align with our product roadmap. The position will require a background in various design and production disciplines including metal forming, plastic injection molding and carbon technologies. The position will interface with various functional groups in the development and commercialization activities required to successfully bring new products to market.
You Will
For this full-time position working at this location, the anticipated annualized base pay range will be from $82300 - $152800 / year. At Pentair, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the pay range. Pentair considers various factors in determining actual compensation for this position at the expected location. Actual compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, work location, and other relevant business or organizational needs.
This position may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as, annual incentive bonus..

You Will
- Innovate new products using best practice through Pentair 5D NPD process to improve the company’s position in the market through product launches.
- Create & develop 2D and 3D drawings using drafting practices per GD&T.
- Coordinate with R&D teams, mechanical, electrical, and software engineers on full design integration.
- Perform FEA and failure analysis, DFMEA and DVP&R analyses.
- Lead design reviews.
- Develop and carry out test plans, matrices, and reports.
- Work with specialized vendors to perform manufacturing analysis and determine design optimizations.
- Provide schedule updates and reports to management.
- Build, test, and evaluate prototypes designs.
- Participate in initial Voice-Of-Customer research identifying the needs and goals for the new product, from function to aesthetics.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering is required.
- 3+ years of professional experience in Engineering, VAVE, New Product Development, and/or Sustaining Engineering
- Have exceptional mechanical aptitude and basic working knowledge of various hand tools and installation devices.
- Have experience with managing project timelines.
