FOX Television Stations owns and operates 29 full power broadcast television stations in the U.S. These include stations located in 14 of the top 15 largest designated market areas, or DMAs, and duopolies in 11 DMAs, including the three largest DMAs (New York, Los Angeles and Chicago). Of these stations, 18 are affiliated with the FOX Network. In addition to distributing sports, entertainment and syndicated content, our television stations collectively produce approximately 1,200 hours of local news every week. These stations leverage viewer, distributor and advertiser demand for the FOX Network’s national content.

Job Description

JOB TITLE: Morning Breaking News Anchor

FOX6 News has a unique opportunity for an atypical News Anchor who has a knack for engaging the audience and presenting breaking news with authority, a bit of charm and a flair for innovation! As part of the team, you will not be taking on a traditional role. You’ll be breaking stories and delivering impactful content that our community relies on not only on-air, but on digital and streaming too. You’ll play a big role in providing content and hosting early afternoon digital programming. RESPONSIBILITIES:

Digital Storytelling – Drive the delivery of fresh local, regional and national news content across all platforms, including on-air, online and streaming services.

Innovative Content Creation – Research, create and present engaging stories that resonate with our audience utilizing cutting-edge digital tools and techniques.

Collaborative Production – Work closely with newsroom staff to produce informative and compelling news segments that push the boundaries of traditional broadcasting.

Engaging On-Air Presence – Bring energy and approachability to the screen, making mornings enjoyable and informative for our viewers while driving viewers to our streaming platform.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience – Minimum of three years of anchoring experience, preferably on a morning newscast

Journalistic Instincts – Strong passion for news and a high commitment to journalistic standards

Digital Savvy – Expertise in leveraging online and social media platforms for news gathering and story development is essential

Education – A degree in Journalism or closely related field is preferred

Morning Enthusiast – A natural morning person who thrives in early hours and brings positivity to the start of the day

Conversationalist – Ability to ad-lib and connect with viewers

Forward Thinking – Enthusiastically embraces the future of local news and willingness to move beyond traditional newscasts

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $72,000.00-80,500.00 annually. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
