Job Description
Primary Purpose
The PALNG Electrician is a skilled tradesperson who installs, repairs, inspects, and maintains electrical equipment. They work with precision instruments and electrical knowledge to ensure the proper functioning of electrical power distribution systems (120v,240v,480v,4160v,13.8kV,34.5kV,230kV). They ensure that electrical systems are safe, functional, and compliant with industry specifications and regulatory requirements. The PALNG Electrician will play a crucial role in ensuring the functionality, reliability, and efficiency of our electrical systems and components.
Duties And Responsibilities
Install, repair, inspect, and maintain electrical wiring systems, including and fixtures in accordance with national and local electrical codes.
Test electrical systems or continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures, using testing devices, such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, or oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of system.
Read and interpret blueprints, electrical diagrams, equipment manuals, and technical specifications.
Work from ladders, scaffolds, or heights.
Advise management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous.

Document work performed, including repairs, modifications, and maintenance activities, using electronic records and reports.
Collaborate with engineers, contractors, and other professionals to plan and execute electrical installations and upgrades.

Participating in PALNG required training programs and maintains required electrical credentials.
Willing to work Overtime and be on-call. (Rotation basis)
Perform other duties as assigned.

- Ensure compliance with PALNG safety protocols, procedures, and NFPA 70E regulations to maintain a safe working environment and prevent accidents and injuries.
- Perform preventive maintenance and routine inspections of electrical systems, equipment, and components to detect hazards, defects, malfunctions, needs for adjustments or repairs, and areas for improvements.
Install, repair, inspect, and maintain electrical wiring systems, including and fixtures in accordance with national and local electrical codes.
Test electrical systems or continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures, using testing devices, such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, or oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of system.
Read and interpret blueprints, electrical diagrams, equipment manuals, and technical specifications.
Work from ladders, scaffolds, or heights.
- Perform switching orders to Isolate / Energize electrical distribution systems.
Advise management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical problems and issues using test equipment and hand tools and implement effective solutions to ensure optimal performance and functionality.
Advise management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous.
- Terminate conductors to circuit breakers, transformers, motors, and other electrical components.
- Perform business management duties, such as maintaining records or files, preparing reports, or ordering supplies or equipment.
Document work performed, including repairs, modifications, and maintenance activities, using electronic records and reports.
Collaborate with engineers, contractors, and other professionals to plan and execute electrical installations and upgrades.
Stay up to date with technological advancements, industry trends, and best practices in electrical systems and equipment.
Participating in PALNG required training programs and maintains required electrical credentials.

- Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical problems on energized equipment.
- Aid during emergencies by operating floodlights or generators, placing flares, or driving needed vehicles.

Qualifications
Education
- H.S. Diploma/GED - Required
- 1+ years of experience in Petrochemical, Refining, Power Generation or LNG Required
- 5 + years of experience as Journeyman Electrician related experience In-service work or Industrial environment. - Required
- 1+ years of experience in Compatible leadership roles Preferred
- Exhibit extensive knowledge in implementing best practices used in industrial maintenance organizations. Advanced
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of electrical systems, equipment, and components. Advanced
- Possess in-depth knowledge of operating site safety, environmental, and emergency response programs. Advanced
- Exhibit analytical thinking and ability to utilize concise data and information while working through problems and implementing solutions. Intermediate
- The ability to apply strong written and oral communication skills while participating in discussions with internal and external project stakeholders. Intermediate
- Demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of electrical principles and their application in operation of an LNG plant. Advanced
- Demonstrate a proficiency in use of precision electrical measurement and diagnostic instruments. Advanced
- Possess a working knowledge of hand tools, power tools, and machine tools. Advanced
- Possess physical stamina and strength to perform manual labor, lift heavy objects, and work in various positions and environments. Work at Elevations. Advanced
- Display extensive experience in managing and mitigating risks associated with electrical maintenance work. Advanced
- Possess strong working knowledge and understanding of how to read and interpret electrical schematics and circuit/wiring diagrams. Advanced
- Possess strong working knowledge and understanding of how to read and interpret P&IDs, PFDs, and other Process Safety Information related to operation of an LNG plant. Intermediate
- Possess the ability to manage multiple and complex issues and work independently. Intermediate
- Show consistent attention to detail and a commitment to quality, with the ability to diagnose and repair electrical issues accurately and efficiently. Intermediate
- Possess strong working knowledge of Control of Work and safe isolation practices. Advanced
- Apply an understanding of the maintenance work process and systems. Must have a level of proficiency with Internet, Email and Microsoft Office programs, & SAP. Advanced
- State Industrial Electricians License Required
- Journeyman or Master Electrical Certification Required
- TWIC Required
- Valid Driver's License Preferred
- NFPA 70e Certification (Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace)
