Description

Our Billings, Montana office is currently seeking an experienced Paralegal.

Position Summary

The Paralegal plays a pivotal role in supporting our civil litigation and mass tort attorneys. This includes managing high volumes of casework, coordinating legal processes, and ensuring accurate and timely handling of all case-related documentation. This position requires a detail-oriented professional with strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills are key.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support attorneys through all phases of litigation, from client intake through trial preparation and settlement.
  • Draft, review, and file legal documents including complaints, motions, discovery requests, and settlement agreements.
  • Conduct legal research and summarize case law, statutes, and regulations for attorney review.
  • Manage large caseloads, with a focus on organizing documentation, tracking evidence, and monitoring case statuses.
  • Coordinate court filings, deadlines, depositions, and calendaring to ensure procedural compliance.
  • Gather and prepare medical records, authorization forms, and other evidentiary documents, especially in mass tort matters.
  • Communicate professionally with clients, medical providers, opposing counsel, and court staff to facilitate smooth case progress.
  • Maintain and update case management systems and document databases with a high level of accuracy.

Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
  • 3+ years of experience as a paralegal in a law firm or legal department setting.
  • Civil litigation experience strongly preferred.
  • Associate’s degree or Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-approved program required, Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, legal research tools (e.g., Westlaw, LexisNexis), and case management systems.
  • Must be able to read, comprehend, and follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Must be willing to travel for casework, court proceedings, or training as needed.
  • Must hold a valid driver’s license.

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting.
  • Perform repetitive tasks such as typing and clicking.
  • Must be able to lift and move light items up to 20 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to bend, reach, push, pull, lift, and sit.
