Position Summary

The Payment Posting Specialist is responsible for maintaining accuracy in all areas of operation while overseeing and posting various forms of revenue and adjustments including electronic and manual insurance payments, patient payments, and refunds. The Specialist scrutinizes and balances complex spreadsheets data daily; interprets Explanations of Benefits (EOB's) and assigns appropriate ANSI codes; follows Federal and State regulations, organizational and departmental policies & procedures; and works proactively with Asante customers providing friendly, knowledgeable service.

Qualifications

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent, is required

Experience

  • At least 1 year of clerical experience involving financial or accounting transactions, and/or medical office experience with knowledge of medical insurance, is required

Other Required Skills/Abilities

  • Basic math skills and knowledge of general accounting principles
  • Knowledge of local, state, and federal healthcare regulations
  • General knowledge of hospital billing practices
  • Maintains confidentiality of sensitive information
