Your Role on the Team
Position Summary
Occupational Therapists, under medical orders, conduct evaluations of patients requiring occupational therapy; plan individual care programs; administer occupational therapy treatments; and perform other related duties as required.Incumbents plan, organize and conduct occupational therapy programs which utilize various treatment modalities including activities of daily living and problem solving skills, language and educational techniques, sensory motor integration, upper extremity splinting, physical restoration methods, adaptive aids, and prevocational explorations to increase the repertoire of tasks and interpersonal skills needed for community living and adaptation; select and administer appropriate occupational therapy evaluative instruments; establish rehabilitation goals for each patient’s progress and coordinate occupational therapy programs with other disciplines; and observe, evaluate, and document patient progress.

Required Qualifications
- Knowledge necessary to obtain Occupational Therapist License in the State of California.
- Current California Occupational Therapist license.
- Current American Heart Association BLS Certification.
- Must demonstrate competency in use of modalities and splinting.
- Must demonstrate competency in dysphagia.
- Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
- Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System
- Demonstrates ability to work as an interdisciplinary team member.
- Must be willing to cross train to multiple areas.
- Demonstrates good working knowledge of Title 22, JCAHO standards and county regulations.
- Strong communication/people skills.
- Possess the skills necessary to perform evaluations of patients in ages ranging from pediatric to geriatric.
- Certified Hand Therapist Certification is preferred.
- General Occupational Therapy: One year general acute experience preferred.
- Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms
