Planning & Fulfillment Manager

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will ensure the efficient planning and fulfillment of products required by customers, focusing on performance improvements such as on-time delivery, lead time reduction, inventory management, and supply plan optimization. You will support production scheduling, material planning, and inventory optimization while driving improvement initiatives and ensuring high customer service levels.

The work model for the role is: - Onsite

This role is contributing to the Electrification Smart Power Division in Richmond, VA area.

You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Supports the site supply planning process by creating production schedules, planning materials at the supplier end, and managing logistics. Releases production orders in SAP and tracks the plan vs. actual production.
  • Manages and plans drop-shipped materials from suppliers to customer sites. Oversees site inventory and drives inventory optimization projects to ensure efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Maintains optimal inventory levels according to company targets, ensuring high customer service levels. Supports and maintains inventory management processes for finished/semi-finished goods and raw materials, in line with company guidelines. Conducts detailed analyses of planning and fulfillment metrics, including Days Inventory on Hand (DIH), on-time delivery, lead time, forecast accuracy, and resource utilization.
  • Identifies root causes of non-performance and drives continuous improvement initiatives across the business. Establishes and shares best practices for operations planning, inventory management, and resource optimization.
  • Supports the local implementation of planning technology solutions and compiles weekly/monthly reports to share planning, fulfillment, and inventory performance with business leaders.

Qualifications for the role

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, business administration, logistics or similar.
  • 2-3 years’ experience in production planning, material planning or similar role (ETO manufacturing experience is a plus)
  • SAP PP / MM knowledge.
  • Power BI knowledge – Desired.
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
