Mace is seeking a full-time project planning and scheduling manager for life science and manufacturing & technology projects to work directly with our clients on capital projects.

Collaborates with the planning function on allocated project and contributes, as required. Verifies projects/ tenders to ensure alignment to define planning processes; ensure projects/ tenders are appropriately planned, scheduled and monitored. Supports Project Management function in the delivery of the project, as required, ensuring they are delivered on time and profitably. Responsible for the planning of medium complexity projects, a portfolio of smaller projects or sections of larger projects.

You’ll Be Responsible For

  • Ability to absorb and analyse large amounts of schedule information/data quickly to highlight relevant trends and issues to project team and key stakeholders, such as schedule progress comparisons, productivity and efficiencies analyses, schedule risk reviews.
  • Serving as a client-facing planning and scheduling manager who assists with tactical, and technical advice.
  • Undertaking responsibilities independently or with minimal supervision with the expectation that you can oversee the work of graduate surveyors.
  • Being a key interface with client, stakeholders and other consultants at all project stages.
  • Identifying and acting upon opportunities to improve cost and schedule management procedures, templates, products and hence improve the services provided to the clients.
  • Preparation of the documentation for tendering.
  • Analysis of tender returns and preparation of tender report.
  • Ensuring that post contract schedule variances, change control, schedule checking and valuation processes are managed effectively.
  • Undertake the valuation of contractor’s monthly applications including measured works, preliminaries, materials on site etc.
  • Assessment and evaluation of variations including the ability to negotiate and agree with the contractor, including the preparation of full substantiating documentation.
  • Ensuring the production of monthly post contract and schedule reports and presenting them to the client.
  • Have an understanding of the overall project lifecycle from design through to handover.
  • Awareness of current project controls methodologies such as EVM.
  • Developing critical thinking skills to interrogate data and information.
  • Able to manage schedule/planning of limited complexity or participating in the delivery of medium/high complexity projects/programs under direction.
  • Ability to work within multidisciplinary teams and contribute towards analyzing trends using numerical and statistical techniques.
  • General understanding of all aspects of project controls, how they complement each other & wider project delivery.
  • Able to lead negotiations with third parties as planning / schedule management specialist.
  • Able to respond to client / stakeholder requests effectively & sensitively.
  • Excellent attention to detail & able to validate & check data and reports, recording & reports produced, providing basic commentary & analysis.
  • Awareness of current methodologies & tools to manage / analyze develop planning / schedule information related to projects (e.g. MS Excel, MS Project, Primavera P6).

You’ll Need To Have

  • Relevant degree (MS or MBA preferred).
  • Demonstrated capital project experience within multi-phase life science and industrial manufacturing capital programs.
  • Knowledge of multiple project delivery methods, including alternative project delivery (design build and construction manager at risk).
