Thermcraft, a leading manufacturer of industrial thermal process heating equipment, a 100% employee-owned company, is hiring a Plant Controller who will be responsible for managing all accounting operations and ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting. This role is especially critical in our growing manufacturing environment, where cost accounting, budgeting, and operational analysis are essential to drive informed business decisions.

You will play a key role in financial reporting, cost analysis, payroll support, and new hire administration, helping ensure operational efficiency and financial insight across departments. This opportunity is ideal for a manufacturing cost accountant or plant accountant looking to apply deep inventory and cost analysis skills in a high-impact role.

Essential Functions

  • Ensures all legal entity accounting and reporting is done promptly, accurately, and per US GAAP.
  • Coordinates the monthly and yearly reporting, preparation of budgets, forecasts, and any other reporting to Management and Corporate CFO.
  • Manages and enhances the cost accounting system to support inventory valuation, production costing, and margin analysis.
  • Reviews manufacturing variances and collaborates with operations to improve accuracy and efficiency.
  • Providing key analysis and insights to guide decision-making and leadership in challenging management to improve efficiency and profitability.
  • Review monthly Intercompany activity to ensure proper elimination in the consolidated financial statements.
  • Analysis of the balance sheet, which includes monthly reconciliations of key balance sheet accounts.
  • Maintain contact with tax authorities, auditors, banks, tax advisors, salary administrators, and financial system consultants.
  • Ensure all reporting to banks and tax authorities is done timely and accurately.
  • Prepare quarterly cash forecast.
  • Manages the local audit process for interim and year-end audits and compliance for tax advisors.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
  • Minimum 7 years of accounting/finance experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of accounting management experience.
  • Strong knowledge of financial operations and cost accounting.

  • Attention to Detail: Self-motivated with a track record of being accurate, detail-oriented, and organized while working in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Technology and Learning: Proficient with software, including Microsoft Office, accounting, and payroll software. Experience using Visual Manufacturing software is a plus. The capability to learn new skills and thrive in a continuously improving environment.
