We are responsible for the end-to-end digital and physical Guest experience for all technology & digital-led initiatives across the Attractions & Entertainment, Food & Beverage, Resorts & Transportation and Merchandise lines of business as well as other initiatives including MyDisneyExperience and Hey, Disney!
This role sits in the Commerce Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) specifically supporting Ecommerce , Consumer Products and Licensing and Publishing organization within Technology & Digital for Disney Experiences. It works closely with Commerce Engineering and Consumer Products Technology teams from across the company.

About The Role & Team:

Join the Commerce Site Reliability Engineering team as a Principal SRE, supporting Ecommerce, Consumer Products, Licensing and Publishing, and Consumer Production platforms at Disney Experiences. You will drive best-in-class infrastructure improvements, implement industry-leading observability strategies, and champion a DevOps culture across multi-cloud environments spanning AWS, Azure, and GCP. In this role, you will partner with engineering and product teams to lead large-scale project delivery, ensuring the reliability, scalability, and performance of critical commerce platforms.
What You'll Do:

Champion and scale a DevOps culture across Commerce, Licensing and Publishing, and Consumer Production engineering teams, mentoring engineers on observability practices to reduce MTTR and improve application stability.

Elevate and lead the design, build, and support of products platforms
-
Drive automation of application security and observability pipelines, instrument telemetry for proactive monitoring, engineer high reliability, and reinforce best practices to protect company and customer data.

Expertise in systems administration skills on Linux, Containers, AWS, Azure, and GCP, and must have extensive experience with web technologies, source control management using Git, cloud hosting, and container scheduling

Establish systems administration requirements in Linux and Windows platforms across AWS, Azure, and GCP and bring knowledge on systems, network, operational excellence and application stability, security, performance, and capacity management, operational excellence and application stability, security, performance, and capacity management, as well as documentation

Engage in estimation and planning across the organization, voicing recommendations and solutions from a technical perspective

Continuously monitor and evaluate emerging technologies within your area of expertise to drive informed decision-making and recommendations
Qualifications of the Role:

Minimum 10 years of related work experience
-
Expertise in defining and implementing industry-leading observability strategies across diverse and highly complex distributed systems, ensuring optimal performance and reliability

Comprehensive knowledge and hands-on experience with advanced continuous integration tools like Gitlab, AWS CodeBuild, CodeDeploy, CodePipeline, and Azure DevOps, driving innovation and setting industry benchmarks

Mastery in architecting and managing highly available, scalable, and automated infrastructure using configuration management and orchestration tools such as Terraform, Cloud Formation, Ansible, and Chef, contributing to the organization's strategic objectives and competitive advantage

Expert in using AI to optimize system reliability through advanced analytics and prescriptive recommendations

Excellent communication and leadership abilities, to ensure effective growth and development of team

A visionary who motivates teams to excel and fosters creativity, consistently driving excellence in all endeavors

Authority in AWS, Azure, GCP, Harness, Kubernetes, Terraform, and observability tooling, demonstrating deep expertise and knowledge in the field
Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with Harness CI/CD pipelines and DevOps automation tooling

Hands-on expertise across multi-cloud environments including AWS, Azure, and GCP

Experience supporting large-scale ecommerce or consumer-facing platforms

Familiarity with observability platforms such as Datadog, New Relic, or Dynatrace
-
Demonstrated success leading large project efforts across cross-functional engineering teams
Required Education:
-
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or comparable field of study, and/or equivalent work experience
Preferred Education:
-
Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field

Cloud certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect, Azure Administrator, or GCP Professional Cloud Architect
The hiring range for this position in Orlando, FL is $175,500 to $235,400per year and in Glendale, CA is $184,300 to $247,100 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
