This position will work with the team to develop and optimize processes and test methods used to manufacture and characterize metal components produced by laser processing and/or plastic laser bonding processes. The candidate should have 1-2 years of experience if engineer or several years if technician.

Role And Responsibilities

  • Generates and validates 3D dimensional measurement or process routines and recipes.
  • Use of design of experiments for optimization of laser cutting/welding processes
  • Creates and revises manufacturing documents, specifications, standard operating procedures (SOPs), safety instructions, validation protocols, risk assessments, and procedures and other technical documents to ensure compliant, efficient and safe procedures.
  • Works to identify root cause using structured problem solving.
  • Understands engineering principles theories, concepts, practices and techniques.
  • Analyzes and solves problems from basic engineering principles, theories and concepts.
  • Suggests and supports new methods or materials for continual improvement of quality and efficiency.
  • Works with other engineers and technicians in developing solutions and improvements in materials, equipment and process as necessary.
  • Participates in teams as necessary to ensure continual improvement, safety and compliance.
  • Interacts cross functionally and with internal customers and external suppliers.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Technician with Medical Device experience in setting up recipes and running various processes on equipment.
  • 1 year of experience working in a technical role. 3+ if technician.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team as well as independently.
  • Proficiency in multitasking and prioritizing tasks.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Results-driven with a focus on achieving goals.
  • Experience in SolidWorks or similar CAD software.
  • Experience with Excel, statistical analysis software such as Minitab, and other engineering analysis tools

Preferred Qualifications

  • Medical device experience
  • Experience with optical measurement systems
  • Experience with laser cutting/welding processes
  • Previous close interface with R&D preferred
  • Lean 6 Sigma Green or Yellow Belt training
