Amazon Air's (AIR) Global Aviation Organization seeks highly motivated individuals to join the Air Safety Oversight Programs (ASOP) team. The Program Manager, Air Safety Internal Evaluation will be a member of Amazon Air's Safety Oversight Program (ASOP), partnering with leadership to strengthen and execute risk-based audit methodologies.
This role will evaluate compliance with regulatory requirements, internal policies, and industry best practices across AIR operations through a process and system-based approach. By building strong partnerships and earning trust across the network, the Program Manager will analyze trends, recommend improvements, and support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety, mitigate operational risks, and optimize efficiency within AIR operations. This position develops scalable long-term solutions to improve ASOP and creates innovative approaches for world-class air operations, with the ultimate goal of making AIR the safest aviation company in the world.
The Program Manager will drive continuous improvement initiatives, leverage data-driven insights, and collaborate across teams to elevate safety standards, streamline processes, and foster a culture of excellence throughout AIR's operations. By consistently raising the bar on safety and operational efficiency, this role contributes to AIR's mission of becoming the industry benchmark for aviation safety and reliability.
In this position you will leverage communication skills with managers, team members, and business partners to drive effective solutions to complex and ambiguous challenges. You will create and report air metrics to improve safety and cross-divisional coordination within the overall air program.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $66,800/year in our lowest geographic market up to $142,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. - Lead the Air Safety Programs team's internal evaluation initiatives
- Partner with Senior Program Manager of AIR Compliance Monitoring to develop, manage, and grow the Internal Evaluation program
- Develop and manage risk-based audit programs and methodologies
- Create and execute process and system-based audit plans across AIR operations
- Liaison with Corporate and Hub/Gateway teams on oversight results and corrective actions
- Provide real-time feedback and create detailed audit documentation that tells a compelling story that stands the test of time
- Create program updates and communications to internal teams
- Analyze data and metrics to drive safety trends and solutions
- Synthesize complex data into clear, actionable insights
- Navigate through ambiguity while managing multiple concurrent projects
- Systematically escalate problems or variances to relevant owners and teams, following through to resolution
- Build strong partnerships across multiple teams and levels
- Provide and receive direct feedback
- Identify risks and opportunities for improvement
- Prioritize aviation safety and continuous improvement
- Work in a dynamic airport environment, including outdoors in various weather conditions
- Work days, nights, and overnight as needed
- Travel up to 50% of the time
- 3+ years of program or project management experience
- 3+ years of defining and implementing process improvement initiatives using data and metrics experience
- Knowledge of Excel at an intermediate level (e.g., pivot tables & charts, multiple criteria lookups, nested logical/IF formulas, data cleansing, array formulas, etc.)
- Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
- Experience working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams
- Bachelor's degree
- 3+ years aviation ramp operations experience
- Experience with risk-based and root cause corrective action methodology and analysis
- 3+ years auditing program experience
- Master's degree
- 3+ years of driving end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership experience
- Experience in stakeholder management, dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- Experience providing direct feedback and coaching
- Strategic mindset with proven ability to manage ambiguity and changing stakeholder requirements
- Strong ability to create detailed, narrative-driven audit documentation
- Demonstrated ability to navigate complex, ambiguous situations
- Passion for aviation operations and the dynamic airport environment
- Experience in cross-divisional coordination and process improvement
