The Quality Assurance Technician performs quality checks to make sure our product is within the quality metrics provided in the Quality Management System.
- Upholding Boochcraft’s company values and representing Boochcraft with enthusiasm and confidence.
- Ensuring a safe workplace.
- Adhering to the Quality Management System and providing inputs toward continually improving its scope and effectiveness.
- Following proper operating procedures.
- Performing lab analysis such as: titratable acidity, alcohol and density analysis, PCR, cell counts, measuring CO2 and DO, as well as can seam analysis.
- Sample collection at various points during the process using ASBC method of Aseptic Sampling.
- Prepare media and plate as needed.
- Data capturing and analytics using standard deviations to interpret trends occurring in the brewery.
- Set up and administering sensory panels.
- Cleaning and organizing lab space.
- Assisting production when/if needed.
- Working with innovation group as needed.
- This position pays between $21.50 per hour to $23.00 per hour.

- Education: He/she must hold a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Microbiology, Food Science, Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry or Engineering. If this person is not formally educated in any of the above disciplines, he/she must have an Associate’s degree and the experience and skills necessary to perform the required laboratory procedures. It is preferred that he/she has a thorough understanding of quality control methods with a special focus on chemical/biological processes.
- Preferred Experience: 2 years’ laboratory experience, ideally supporting a high-volume production plant where he/she gathered and analyzed data used to monitor and control production quality.
- License or Certification: He/she must hold a valid Driver’s License.
- Specialized Skills: He/she must also be proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Suite.
- Preferred skills: Experience in growing and analyzing complex cultures of yeast, bacteria, and/or enzymes; well-developed palate that is able to make distinctions among flavors, ingredients, fermentation characteristics, and aging/storage methods.
- Physical Requirements: He/she must able to perform physical activities which include but are not limited to: lifting, bending over, kneeling, twisting, climbing on ladders, stooping, crouching, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
