Position Summary
The Quality Engineer is a key contributor to advancing our Quality Management System (QMS), bringing expertise in quality management and manufacturing processes to drive continuous improvements. This role focuses on developing and implementing quality assurance processes that proactively prevent issues and ensure our products meet the highest standards—delivered on time and within budget.
As a subject matter expert, the Quality Engineer confidently navigates complex situations, making impactful decisions and setting a standard for quality practices. This position also plays an essential role in promoting a culture of excellence by mentoring team members, fostering effective cross-departmental communication, and leading continuous improvement efforts across the organization.

Duties And Responsibilities
QUALITY SYSTEM DEVELOPMENT & IMPROVEMENT:
- Independently develop and implement quality procedures and plans that meet and exceed customer requirements.
- Lead quality improvement initiatives by evaluating processes, identifying areas for enhancement, and implementing effective solutions.
- Conduct in-depth investigations of quality failures, identify root causes, and establish corrective and preventive actions.
- Analyze complex quality data to identify trends and drive continuous improvement, supporting compliance with quality standards and regulations.
- Educate and mentor employees on QMS requirements, processes, and best practices, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Lead Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis (PFMEA) and root cause analysis for critical quality issues, ensuring that corrective actions are effective and preventative.
- Collaborate with suppliers, supply chain, and program management to manage supplier performance and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Address customer feedback proactively by creating action plans for improvement and provide technical input in bids and proposals to confirm alignment with customer needs.
- Develop inspection and test plans, conduct compliance audits, and resolve identified findings and risks independently.
- Utilize advanced metrology and statistical techniques to analyze data, enhance performance, and reduce the Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ).
- Serve as a change agent by applying Quality Assurance methods to cultivate a strong quality culture within the organization.
- Leverage a deep understanding of human factors and motivational strategies to drive quality outcomes and inspire team members in adopting quality initiatives.
REQUIRED
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field (relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree).
- 7 years of experience in Quality, with a background in product manufacturing and hands-on quality management.
- Certifications and applied experience in Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Proficiency with ERP systems, PLM/ePDM systems, and Microsoft Office Suite for daily tasks.
- Must have a Secret Security Clearance issued by the U.S. Department of Defense.
- Must be a U.S. citizen who is not a dual citizen of any other country.
