Position Overview: Receiver/Checker

We are hiring for the role of Receiver/Checker to ensure that the correct merchandise is received at our facility without any damage or infestation and in the correct quantities.

Job Description:

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Checking the contents of incoming shipments and comparing them with records to ensure accuracy

  • Recording shipment data into the computer system for reporting and record-keeping purposes

  • Maintaining an accurate inventory through cycle counting

  • Assisting with customer service issues related to shortages, damages, and overages

  • Monitoring invoices in the warehouse management system

  • Supporting a smooth flow from receiving to shipping and reporting any issues or concerns

  • Labeling and verifying accuracy of inbound freight

  • Setting up items and slots for maximum efficiency

  • Operating warehouse management systems and necessary technology

  • Auditing pick/reserve slots and ensuring product rotation

  • Verifying absence of rodent/pest activity in shipments

  • Performing other tasks as assigned

Environment:

  • Warehouse: Freezer (-20F to 0F)

  • Warehouse: Perishable Warehouse (28F to 60F)

  • Warehouse: Grocery Warehouse (50F to 90F)

Skills:

  • Specialized Knowledge: Ability to complete Receiving Certification

  • Special Skills: Attention to detail, good math and reading skills, basic computer skills, ability to use pallet jack or forklift

  • Physical Abilities: Ability to occasionally lift up to 60 lbs, ability to stand, walk, reach and perform repetitive movements

  • 0-2 years: Relevant experience
