Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills
Understanding Microsoft O365 products (Excel, Word, Access, Teams). Strong computer usage skills and must be able to learn use of Navpoint and ERP software.

What You’ll Do
- Inspect incoming shipments for quality, accuracy, and compliance with engineering standards.
- Use precision tools (calipers, micrometers, etc.) to verify product specifications.
- Identify and quarantine nonconforming materials.
- Collaborate with purchasing, production, and QA teams to resolve quality issues.
- Support internal and supplier audits (some travel required).
- High school diploma or GED; related experience a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and communication skills.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office and ERP systems.
- Measurement Tool experience
- Strong planning, organizational, and accuracy skills
- Forklift and overhead crane experience preferred.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Include The Following.
- Counts, measures, and inspects contents of shipment for defects in materials, workmanship, damage, and deterioration that might occur in transit using company specifications and details on drawings, purchase orders, or other engineering documents.
- Verifies quality of incoming wire and cable by visually inspecting for damage and comparing purchase order and part description to vendor pack-slip, print on cable jacket and vendor cable identification as requested by Receiving Agent.
- Compares quantities and part numbers of purchase parts, assemblies, accessories, and materials received with procurement data and other specifications to assure accuracy of order (that we are receiving correct product/material).
- Assures that all purchase parts, assemblies, accessories, and materials are properly identified by part number, unit of measure, and approval for use in production.
- Excellent Communication skills with all team members, specifically shortage/overage of incoming materials or documentation errors regarding to material certificates or other quality documents required to purchasing immediately upon detection.
- Identifies any purchase parts, assemblies, accessories, and materials that fail to meet specified requirements as "rejected" materials using non-conforming product tags (reject tags) and quarantines to prevent accidental use.
- Reviews quality problems with the Quality Coordinator immediately upon detection and communicates with purchasing department, production/inventory control department when incoming materials are rejected.
- Assure accuracy in output of receiving activities to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and condition of transferred materials and corresponding documentation.
- Uses test and measurement tools, fixtures, and equipment; including height gages, calipers, micrometers, fixed gages, dial indicators and if required optical comparator to inspect incoming materials/components/products to engineering specifications.
- Assures that all test and measurement tools, fixtures, and equipment used to verify quality of purchase parts, assemblies, accessories, and material has “current” calibration status prior to using for quality verification tasks.
- Responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of rejected material "hold" areas and office areas as applicable.
- Performs all assignments in a timely and orderly fashion and follows up with manager/supervisor as early as possible if obstacles arise that may prevent completion of daily work/tasks or assignments by a required time/date.
- Practice teamwork by helping as needed and requested by other associates and by other managers/supervisors.
- When necessary, conducts FAI (First Article Inspections) on "new" purchase parts, assemblies, accessories, and materials or newly sourced purchase parts, assemblies, accessories, and materials.
- Assists in proper disposition of "rejected" incoming materials. Confers with purchasing department, engineering department, production personnel, QA teammates, and any others necessary to resolve vendor quality problems.
- Assist QA team with sorting product for various conditions using advanced equipment to aid in sorting when possible.
- As work tempo varies may be called upon to the inspection of finished product commonly referred to as Certificate of Compliance final inspection.
- Assist with rejection database entry and quality control records database, to include communications with Material Planning and Engineering personnel.
- Provide for auditing to assure that calibration status is maintained for all measurement equipment and tools in accordance with our company's quality procedures.
- Perform calibration of tools that we are able to calibrate "in-house" without complex gages or equipment.
- Conducts Internal and Supplier Audits [requires travel] as assigned per schedule or other.
- Assists in Document Control processing and or writing work instructions.
- Adheres to and ensures compliance to company policies and directives regarding safety, employment, status, conduct, and job performance.
- Completes any and all tasks that may otherwise be directed by the Supervisor/Manager.
- Proactively supports and promotes Quality Policy throughout the organization, as demonstrated by day--to--day actions and decision--making.
