Position Summary

Intren West is seeking a seeking a motivated, self-starter Recruiter to join our West Region Operations team. The desired candidate will thrive in a high-volume recruiting culture and have a successful track record of sourcing, screening and hiring qualified field craft leadership and professionals within the construction industry. The territory encompasses the Northern California region and entails partnering with field leaders to source and maintain a qualified and consistent labor pool in the utilities industry (gas, T&D, substation).

Responsibilities

  • Actively recruit new employees for open positions and maintain a database of construction talent. Accountable to build and maintain a strong pipeline of qualified and diverse talent to fill openings as they occur.
  • Develop passive candidates through lead generation, networking, cold calling, deep internet searches and industry research.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with appropriate labor unions, trade schools and universities.
  • Recruit active candidates using in-house Applicant Tracking System (ATS) database (iCIMS), external job boards, social media, etc.
  • Review incoming applications and resumes for candidate suitability.
  • Represent Intren West outside community and college recruiting functions, targeting colleges with construction management. Network within industry and university circles. Attend/recruit at college, military, and other career fairs. Conduct outreach recruiting to non-traditional and disadvantaged candidate groups.
  • Relate company/job information to and phone screen potential candidates for availability, interest level, salary range, relocation needs, and basic qualifications. Arrange for video interviewing where appropriate. Conduct first-interviews with candidates for selected positions and submit candidate recommendations to hiring managers. Set interview appointments for hiring managers.
  • Maintain close communications with applicants regarding status of positions.
  • Ability to take on ad hoc projects when assigned.
  • Partner with hiring managers to determine needs, create/post job descriptions.
  • Make travel arrangements for candidates needing to travel for interviews.
  • Preparation offer documentation; shepherd offers through approval process.
  • Conduct employment reference checks; submit candidate information for background checks in accordance with legal and company standards.
  • Travel to other MasTec offices in region to meet one-on-one with hiring managers.

Compliance And Reporting

  • Ensure compliance with all H&M operational standards and employment laws and regulations.
  • Maintain compliance with Office of Federal Contract Compliance (OFCCP) recruiting obligations.
  • Track metrics and produce recruiting reports as required.

Qualifications

  • Must have a minimum of 4+ years of experience as a Recruiter with a heavy full-cycle recruiting & talent acquisition emphasis. Construction industry recruiting experience is preferred.
  • Proficiency with internet, PC computers, and MS Office suite required
  • ATS experience required; iCIMS experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of Boolean search operators a plus.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal (tact, diplomacy, influence, etc.) skills
  • Ability to handle multiple competing priorities with excellent follow through skills preferred.
  • Ability to consult and partner with all levels in an organization required.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks with excellent organizational skills required.
  • CPC, CERS, AIRS certifications a plus.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree from a four-year university preferred.

Salary Range: $69,300 to $103,900 (based on industry experience)
