Role Overview

The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for overseeing sales activities in the northern and midwestern areas of the U.S. including, but not limited to, the states of Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Iowa, Nebraska and the Dakotas; however, the role allows for cultivation of new business opportunities within the U.S. This position will be responsible for customer service communication and generating new business from both existing and potential customers. While they will generate RFQs, they will have limited pricing authority. Travel and attendance at trade shows, as needed, are integral parts of the role.

This position must be performed in compliance with the Company’s core values.

The individual in this position must be able to communicate with team members across all departments within the Company, including marketing, production control, quality assurance, human resources, engineering as well as with customers and vendors.

Training and development for this position could include time in a foundry environment working alongside our production team for a clearer understanding of foundry operations, terminology, and production methods.

Quantitative Objectives – (2027 fiscal year)

  • Generate 10 RFQ’s per month
  • Generate a predetermined amount of new customer revenue
  • Reach out to all current and prospective customers with:
  • 0% - 50% growth potential: minimum of once per year
  • 50%- 100% growth potential: minimum of four times per year
  • Over 100% growth potential: minimum of six times per year.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Must turn in a weekly sales activity and prospect report and a monthly expense report
  • Maintain accurate records, including rate quotes, processed quotes, turnaround times, volumes, reasons for lost opportunities, RFQ sources, and customer communications
  • Evaluate customers and markets for future growth potential
  • Regularly reach out to customers, staying informed about changes such as new product developments, obsolescence, forecasted plans or ownership/management transitions
  • Develop and maintain open channels of communication with customers
  • Gather and provide all necessary, and correct, information to generate accurate quotes at the time of the RFQ request

Education and Position Qualifications (minimum)

  • Bachelor’s degree (BS)
  • Engineering or manufacturing background preferred
  • Proven success in selling to O.E.M. customers
  • Minimum of 5 years of sales experience

Compensation and Benefits

  • Base Salary + Commission
  • Sales Commission:
    • New Accounts: 3.0% of sales for new business acquired from customers, post hire
    • Existing Accounts: 1.0% of sales for ongoing business with new customers within the assigned region, start after establishing a personal relationship with each account
    • Payment: Commissions are paid in the month following receipt of payment by the customer
    • Exclusions: Commissions are not paid on pattern or tooling charges
  • Travel Allowance: $2,500/month travel allowance (must be approved). Company will reimburse use of personally owned vehicle according to IRS mileage allowances
