Tennessee Orthopaedic Alliance
TOA is seeking a Registered Dietitian to provide services for our Middle Tennessee orthopaedic clinics. This is a primarily in-clinic position with some remote flexibility. The primary clinic hub will be located at 8 City Blvd, with travel to additional clinic locations, as per business needs, within a 40-mile radius; drive time reimbursement will be provided for travel between sites. This role includes a hybrid of in-clinic and telehealth patient visits, with an expected caseload of approximately 20–25 patient appointments per week.
Our Registered Dietitians provide services including nutritional assessments and documentation, coaching and motivational interviewing, obtaining physician referrals, understanding insurance coding and billing processes, and participation in site visits and community education initiatives
Responsibilities
- Outpatient Nutrition Coaching and Counseling (starting at ~20 appointments per week).
- Charting and Documentation.
- Scheduling.
- Insurance Coding and Self-Pay Billing.
- Patient document upload and file organization.
- Attend monthly meetings with the billing/coding team.
- Attend meetings with the VOI team when available.
- Site visits and ongoing communication with site managers.
- Calling healthcare provider practices for external referrals, office notes, labs.
- Conducting team talks for student-athletes.
- School visits for nutrition seminars.
- Corporate wellness webinars.
- Medical specialties:
o Dietetics
o Outpatient Counseling
o Weight Loss
o Medical Nutrition Therapy
o Diabetes
o Sport Nutrition
- Additional responsibilities may apply.
Job Requirements
- Registration by the CDR (Commission on Dietetic Registration).
- TN State License.
- 3 years applicable RDN experience preferred
- Outpatient experience is preferred, but not required.
- HIPAA Compliance.
- Insurance billing and coding knowledge.
- Strong organizational skills and excellent communication skills.
