The Revenue Cycle Rotation Associate is an entry-level, full-time position designed to build comprehensive knowledge of revenue cycle functions through structured rotational assignments. This role begins in payment posting and advances through charge entry, claims submission, denials, insurance follow-up, and ultimately patient billing support. The position is ideal for individuals seeking long-term growth within the revenue cycle.
Job Duties And Responsibilities
Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
Licensure/Certification: None.
Work Experience: Experience working in a medical office or billing environment with healthcare billing, insurance, or patient collections preferred but not required.

Wondering what a day in the life of a Revenue Cycle Rotation Associate at The Iowa Clinic might look like?
The Revenue Cycle Rotation Associate is an entry-level, full-time position designed to build comprehensive knowledge of revenue cycle functions through structured rotational assignments. This role begins in payment posting and advances through charge entry, claims submission, denials, insurance follow-up, and ultimately patient billing support. The position is ideal for individuals seeking long-term growth within the revenue cycle.
Job Duties And Responsibilities
- Accurately post payments and adjustments from EOBs, ERA files, and patient payments.
- Perform charge entry and verify coding accuracy per department standards.
- Assist with timely claims submission and identify errors for correction.
- Review and respond to claim denials; initiate appeals or rebills as appropriate.
- Complete insurance follow-up to resolve outstanding claims.
- Advance to patient billing support, responding to phone calls and resolving billing inquiries with professionalism and empathy.
- Document actions taken in the billing system to ensure clear communication across teams.
- Participate in training, process improvement, and team meetings.
- Follow compliance guidelines, privacy regulations, and internal SOPs.
- Must have experience in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, Outlook, etc. in addition to keyboarding and 10-key.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to follow processes accurately.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Comfortable learning multiple systems and working with data.
- Desire to grow within the revenue cycle field and willingness to rotate through multiple roles.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
