What you’ll do
Support building and facility security by implementing procedures that protect employees, visitors, and municipal property
Manage access control systems by creating and tracking employee ID cards and assigning appropriate security access levels
Monitor, maintain, and support CCTV systems across office buildings and water process facilities to ensure continuous coverage
Assist in overseeing contracted security guards by conducting site visits, supporting training, reviewing invoices, and managing supplies
Conduct site investigations and respond to incidents involving accidents, damage, theft, or security concerns, ensuring issues are documented and addressed appropriately
Support security training efforts, including New Employee Orientation and staff awareness programs
Qualifications
REQUIRES
High school graduation and
Possession of certificate of completion of a recognized police academy at the state, county or municipal level and
3 years experience as a fully commissioned police officer; OR
An accredited Associate’s degree in criminal justice, law enforcement or related area and
1 year of responsible security and/or law enforcement experience; OR
High school graduation and 5 years of responsible security and/or law enforcement experience.
Must be eligible to obtain a special police commission as issued by the KCMO Police Department.
Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and post-offer physical examination as prescribed by the City.
