Title: Senior Accountant

Job Description
The Senior Accountant supports the Controller in ensuring effective cost control and robust financial controls. Responsibilities include the monthly close process, SOX compliance evaluation, cycle and fixed asset counts, and accurate capital tracking. This role is integral to the month-end close process, preparing journal entries, account analysis, reconciliations, and contributing to weekly and monthly reports. The Senior Accountant provides analytical support to finance and other functions, assists with financial and cost analysis, and plays a key role in quarterly balance sheet reviews with Division and Corporate teams. Additionally, this role provides accounting support for accounts receivable, accounts payable, and capital spending tracking, working closely with the Controller and other leaders to ensure financial reporting accuracy.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assist the Controller in ensuring timely and accurate financial statements.
- Oversee Account Payable and Account Receivable.
- Proper management of accounts payable and accounts receivable activities.
- Manage the preparation and review of weekly and monthly financial and key operating metrics reports, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
- Regularly review financial data to ensure fairness and completeness.
- Prepare reports summarizing and forecasting company business activity and financial position in areas of income, expense, and earnings based on past, present, and expected operations. Report month-end financial results to division and plant management within a 3-day close period.
- Work with the Controller to manage budget preparation, review budget proposals, and prepare necessary supporting documentation and justification.
- Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities.
- Review and prepare journal entries, account analyses, and reconciliations at month-end for completeness and accuracy.
- Maintain construction in progress details with supporting documentation and work with the management team to submit capital requests.
- Act as a liaison for internal and external audits.
- Work with the SOX Coordinator and Compliance Manager to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
- Have knowledge of SOX, SOX management requirements, and compliance procedures for company records and processes.
- Assist in the completion of annual physical inventory.
- Assist with the preparation of monthly and quarterly Excess and Obsolete, FCA, and LCM calculations and analysis.
- Prepare reports required by regulatory agencies.
- Support major corporate economic strategies, objectives, and policies by overseeing general accounting policies, processes, and activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Ability to manage and track multiple priorities.
- Ability to optimize work processes.
- Effective communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Results-driven.
- Proficiency with ERP Systems (e.g. Syteline) and Microsoft Office products.
- 5+ years of accounting experience.
- 3-5 years of manufacturing cost experience.
- GAAP knowledge required.
- Sarbanes-Oxley knowledge preferred.
- Experience with ERP systems and advanced Excel; Power BI is a plus.
- BA/BS in Accounting or Business with an emphasis in accounting.
