Position Title: Senior Apparel Designer

Position Type: Full Time / Salary Exempt

Reporting To: Design Director

Location: Z SUPPLY Headquarters

Hybrid In Office 4 days a week / Friday WFH Remote

Position Overview

The SENIOR DESIGNER will design seasonal collections for our Women’s Z SUPPLY Apparel brand. The Designer will have the ability to identify new and emerging design trends as well as having a keen understanding of current sell-through and business trends. Working alongside our CMO, Design Director, Designers, Tech Designers and Product Development team, the Senior Designer will also be responsible for meeting the specific quality, pricing, and aesthetic goals of the brand.

Position Duties / Responsibilities

• Ability to recognize and accurately forecast fashion and cultural trends.
• Ability to translate aspirational ideas and key details in order to make them work for a broader audience.
• Collaborate with the design and merchandising/buying teams to review emerging trends.
• Develop, design, and track seasonal collections.
• Ability to articulate ideas by using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop for sketching, CAD’ing, development worksheets and presentations.
• Ability to identify and develop new innovative fabrications, techniques, treatments, and processes to advance the categories and deliver on specific consumer and business and line plan/price point needs.
• Extensive knowledge of trim components and construction of garments within development and production timelines.
• Applies Z Supply “brand filter” to ensure all key market design trends align to brand and business/revenue needs
• Attends all best seller meetings across Ecommerce and Wholesale to have an in-depth knowledge and understanding of current and emerging selling and product trends within the business
• Have an in-depth knowledge of market, innovation, competition, and product trends
• Ensures that all needs are met according to timeline needs
• Proof and comment on all factory lab-dips, strike-offs, protos, etc., for proper execution of designs and production approval.
• Manage first fits through TOP’s with Tech Designer.
• Ensure timely completion of product in accordance with customer development calendar, and track samples.
• Daily communication with Product Developer and Tech Designer on development to ensure products execute correctly, hit targeted price and margin goals.
• Work with Product Development and Merchandising team to ensure designs meet all IGM and MOQ requirements
• Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications / Experience / Skills / Competencies

• 7+ years of apparel design experience
• Have an in-depth understanding of the brand to ensure the right brand design aesthetic is met
• Willing to push the envelope and bring fresh, innovative ideas to life
• Excellent team player with the ability to build, foster and nurture supportive and collaborative relationships with a range of leadership.
• Super organized and detail oriented. Able to manage multiple design needs and ensure key deadlines and timelines are met.
• Creative thinker who can brainstorm innovative ideas/strategies to support brand initiatives
• Excellent communicator. Able to clearly communicate designs to Tech Design and Product Development and production team
• Proficient in Photoshop, Illustrator, and google docs.

Position Salary Range $120,000 - $150,000

As required by applicable pay transparency laws, Z SUPPLY provides a range of compensation for roles that may be hired in locations under these requirements. To determine starting pay within the hiring range, we carefully consider a variety of factors, including primary work location, role/level, a candidate’s skills, experience, market demands, internal parity and other relevant factors. Flexibility outside of the salary range listed may be considered based on additional skills or qualifications a candidate may possess that may justify additional compensation. Company paid health benefits, PTO, bonus and other various company perks are not included in the salary range listed above and are considered additional compensation.
