Join Casey's Supply Chain team as our Senior Director of Grocery Transportation and Fleet Maintenance! As the Senior Director of Grocery Transportation and Fleet Maintenance, you'll lead our multi-site grocery transportation and fleet maintenance operations across our 19 state footprint. In this role, you'll be responsible for driving operational excellence, optimizing fleet performance, and ensuring compliance and safety across refrigerated and dry fleets. The ideal candidate thrives in a distributed environment, brings deep logistics expertise, and champions a culture of continuous improvement and service.
Key Responsibilities Include
Starting pay range: $151,500 - $216,400. Actual pay may vary based on Casey’s assessment of the candidate's knowledge, skills, abilities (KSAs), related experience, education, and qualifications. Other factors impacting pay include local prevailing wages and internal equity. This position is eligible for an annual cash bonus based on company performance and an annual equity grant in the form of Restricted Stock Units (RSUs). Our full salary range for this role does extend beyond the hiring range listed, allowing team members the opportunity to continue to grow within the company.

Key Responsibilities Include
- Leadership & Team Development: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team across transportation, maintenance, compliance, and parts. Oversee hiring, training, performance management, and career development.
- Strategic Fleet & Asset Management: Optimize asset placement and utilization across multiple facilities. Lead maintenance programs to ensure fleet uptime, reliability, and cost-efficiency.
- Operational Excellence & Network Optimization: Drive route efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance service levels. Implement SOPs and continuous improvement initiatives across all sites.
- Financial & Vendor Oversight: Lead annual fleet budgeting (OPEX & CAPEX), variance analysis, and cost forecasting. Manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts to improve performance and reduce lifecycle costs.
- Compliance & Safety: Ensure adherence to FSMA, OSHA, DOT, and other regulatory standards. Partner with Safety Manager to maintain a clean, compliant, and safe work environment.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Align transportation strategies with supply chain, store operations, and compliance teams. Communicate company initiatives and performance goals across all levels.

Requirements
- Proven Leadership: 7-10+ years in transportation/fleet leadership, with experience managing across multiple locations.
- Refrigerated Fleet Experience: Strong preference for candidates with reefer fleet background in the food or grocery industry.
- Strategic Thinker: Ability to balance day-to-day operations with long-term planning and network design.
- Operational Expertise: Deep understanding of route building, asset deployment, and fleet maintenance best practices.
- Excellent Communicator: Skilled and experience with managing leaders, influencing stakeholders, and driving alignment across teams.
- Travel may be required up to 35% of the time. Must have the physical ability to drive a vehicle for job-related travel and possess a valid driver’s license.
