This role will work directly with and for Ret. General Stanley McChrystal, our CEO and Chairman of the Board, out of our Headquarters in Alexandria, VA.
We are seeking a talented, highly organized, and proactive Senior Executive Assistant. This role will be responsible for a broad range of responsibilities, providing executive-level corporate support while also managing personal tasks to ensure the CEO’s time and resources are maximized. This role requires deep experience in executive support positions, excellent communication skills, discretion, and the ability to multitask in a high-tempo environment. Importantly, this role is tied to the schedule of the CEO and thus requires daily presence in the office, frequent travel, and work outside of traditional business hours.

Responsibilities
Executive Corporate Support:
- Calendar Management: Coordinate and manage the CEO’s complex schedule, including meetings, appointments, travel arrangements, personal commitments, and events.
- Communication: Act as the primary point of contact for internal and external communications on behalf of the CEO, including handling emails, phone calls, and correspondence.
- Meeting Coordination: Prepare agendas, take minutes, and follow up on action items from meetings. Ensure all materials are prepared and distributed in advance for a full CEO brief.
- Travel Arrangements: Plan and coordinate domestic and international travel, including flights, accommodations, itineraries, and transportation. Support up-to-the-minute changes in travel requirements.
- Project Management: Assist with the planning and execution of various projects and initiatives, ensuring deadlines are met and goals are achieved.
- Speech Support: Provide day-of-speech support by conducting AV checks, ensuring the correct speech materials are prepared and available, and coordinating any last-minute adjustments for the CEO. Accompany the CEO on approximately 35% of their travel to provide on-the-ground support.
- Document Management: Prepare, review, and manage reports, presentations, and other documents. Maintain an organized filing system.
- Stakeholder Management: Liaise with board members, senior executives, clients, and other stakeholders on behalf of the CEO.
- Confidentiality: Handle sensitive information with the utmost discretion and maintain confidentiality at all times.
- Household Management Collaboration: Coordinate with the household manager for events hosted in the home, home services and maintenance, ensuring the seamless management of the CEO’s personal affairs.
- Event Planning: Assist in planning and organizing events, such as family gatherings, dinners, and other social engagements for personal and business purposes.
- Travel Support: Plan and arrange personal travel, including vacation planning, accommodations, and itineraries for the CEO and their family.
- Personal Finances: Assist with managing personal finances, including bill payments, expense tracking, taxes, and budget management.
- Personal Taxes: Coordinate with CPA to manage and file personal taxes on a quarterly basis.
- Undergraduate Degree Required
- 5-10 years' work experience required supporting a high-profile executive
- Superior stakeholder focus and professionalism, reflective of McChrystal Group’s premier brand
- Demonstrated ability in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment with a high degree of endurance and flexibility
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to clearly and succinctly articulate ideas
- Problem solver with the skills to adapt to changing priorities or multiple iterations of work
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with a strong attention to detail
- Advanced MS Office skills
- Experience with Mac iOS
- Work onsite full-time in Alexandria, VA or from a client location
- Ability and desire to travel 35% of the time, including global destinations
- Willingness and ability to frequently work outside of 8AM – 5PM business hours in support of travel or requirements of the executive’s schedule
