Overview:

The position is responsible for recommending and maintaining price and rate levels, delivering analyses and managing initiatives that support customer pricing, profitable growth and revenue management. It will develop actionable decision-making insights through data querying, analysis and presentation. The position will also support or lead specific initiatives that help the company maximize profitable revenue and implement standards while maintaining a strong customer experience. Attention to detail and the ability to independently confirm that data is complete and being used correctly is essential for success. In addition to analytical qualifications, the ability to develop effective working relationships across the organization and understanding price strategies are key success factors.

Responsibilities/Essential Functions

Typical tasks and activities for this job include but are not limited to the items listed below. Additional duties may be assigned from time to time as needed by management.

New Business Pricing

  • Maintain and update price and rate levels within Salesforce (SFDC) and other quoting tools used by sales and operations personnel in the preparation of price quotes and presentations to potential and current customers
  • Create reporting and analytics as necessary in SFDC, Excel, Power BI and other tools to measure sales quote and new business pricing effectiveness
  • Combine datasets from multiple sources and complete analyses to determine appropriate price and rate levels and measure profitability at the product and customer levels
  • Collaborate in the formulation of sales strategy at both the quote and overall levels which drive profitable growth
  • Work collaboratively with marketing, sourcing, sales operations and other stakeholders to support product portfolio maximization, sales effectiveness and training initiatives, data integrity, and other profitable growth initiatives
  • Ensure that all routine tasks are fully documented and compliant with Sarbanes Oxley and other internal compliance standards

Existing Customer Pricing / Customer Price Adjustment

  • Provide analytical inputs at a customer level to determine, update and maintain pricing for customers across multiple channels and segments
  • Oversee pricing/customer data cleansing activity including verification of price protection status, billing set up, product rates, price levels, and national account classification
  • Create analyses to identify areas of opportunity for profitable growth while maximizing customer retention
  • Research and prepare pricing and/or revenue reporting and analyses
  • Ensure that all routine tasks are fully documented and compliant with Sarbanes Oxley and other internal compliance standards

Revenue Management

  • Lead periodic projects related to customer-level revenue management
  • This role will likely have a focus on developing tools and approaches to measure and act on customer level revenue quality
  • Assess competitive market and internal product, service quality and cost data to determine and recommend new customer price levels to maximize sales effectiveness and profitable growth
  • Offer advice and support to other stakeholders on profitable growth as needed

Analytics

  • Lead workstreams of assigned initiatives from an analytical perspective
  • Compile, code, categorize, calculate, tabulate, audit, and/or verify information or data as needed to meet pricing and/or revenue operational needs
  • Create and deliver documentation or training to educate users on established best practices around pricing and/or revenue operations, practices and analytics.
  • Develop and share documentation around pricing and/or revenue operations and analytics to ensure timely and effective understanding of data

Analytical or scientific software — Extensive knowledge of Excel required. Experience with internal system (ABS) preferred but not required.

Sales Quoting tools – Extensive knowledge of Salesforce (SFDC) required.

On-line tools – Internet browsers and web accessing software

Office suite software — Microsoft Office, Word, and PowerPoint

Data base user interface and query software —SQL, Power BI and Tableau

Experience/Qualifications

Working Environment/Safety Requirements:

Minimum Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in economics, statistics, computer science, business, mathematics or related field, or previous relevant work experience preferred but not required
  • 4-5 years of revenue analytics, sales operations/analytics or industrial laundry industry experience with increasing responsibility in the following areas:
    • Ability to tackle complex business questions, execute data mining and analysis, and generate and present relevant business insights
    • Inquisitive and detail oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including ability to independently quality check outputs and confirm that data is being used appropriately
    • Proven track record of overseeing or leading complex projects.
    • Ability to present complex ideas concisely
  • Ability to work with large amounts of data, organize and summarize the results and report the findings to management in a logical and organized fashion to support ongoing strategic decisions.
  • Competency with common sales quoting, business analytics and reporting tools and system(s), including Excel, SFDC, Tableau, Power BI, Stata or R
  • Knowledge of or ability to get up to speed with querying software – e.g. SQL
  • Capability of learning new systems rapidly
  • Comfortable sharing analysis insights and key findings to internal clients and executives, including development of PowerPoint presentations
  • Ability to work within a defined procedural environment, yet willing and able to work effectively with ambiguous circumstances

Compensation: The salary rate for this position ranges from $75,000 to $85,000, depending on circumstances including an applicant’s skills and qualifications, certain degrees and certifications, prior job experience, market data, and other relevant factors.
