Senior Accountant - Insurance

Company Overview: A large international insurance and reinsurance company specializing in life, health, and travel insurance, with offices in Miami, is seeking an Senior Accountant join their team.

Job Description: The Accounting Supervisor is responsible for managing the full accounting cycle, ensuring accurate financial reporting and efficient operations.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

· Preparation and review of accounting entries.

· Review and accounting of transactions with affiliates.

· Analysis of ledger accounts.

· Preparation of financial statements.

· Analysis and explanation of variances against prior periods and projections.

· Assisting the Accounting Manager with regulatory and ad-hoc reports and special projects.

Requirements:

· Bachelor’s degree in accounting and at least 5 years of relevant experience.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel (a must).

· Experience with monthly closings and Investment Accounting.

· Strong time management skills, with the ability to meet multiple deadlines.

· Fluency in both English and Spanish.

· Experience in people management.

· Knowledge of JD Edwards (preferred, but not required). HEAVY EXCEL
