Position Summary

The New Orleans Saints and Pelicans are seeking a social-savvy Vertical Video Editor to create engaging and creative short-form vertical videos (TikTok, Reels, YouTube Shorts, etc.) for the teams’ social channels. The individual who fills this role has an expert understanding of Adobe Premiere Pro and other relevant video editing apps. The candidate must be able to work in a collaborative space while also thriving independently to complete projects on deadline.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Create daily TikTok, reels, and hype videos for both teams’ platforms
  • Create compelling content as assigned but can also work on spur-of-the-moment projects
  • Stay up to date on daily, weekly, and monthly social media needs of partnership, community relations, and youth programs departments
  • Demonstrate creativity in presenting the teams’ brands across social media while being ever mindful of internal sensitivities
  • Assist in covering games, events, and other relevant appearances (in person or remotely) for social channels
  • Monitor the daily social conversation of our fans, other brands, teams, and influencers to gauge social media sentiment
  • Closely monitor players’ social media accounts; when possible, work with the players to create unique, engaging content
  • Provide general sound design and color correction
  • Organize and manage media to integrate into the teams’ production database
  • Participate in the upkeep and ideation of new editing equipment or software that would help elevate the teams’ brands

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, digital media, broadcasting, or related majors
  • 2-3 years of experience in digital or social media video or a related field
  • Must possess a strong understanding of existing and emerging social platforms and the ability to use and gain insights from analytics tools
  • Demonstrated advanced knowledge of social networking platforms
  • Must possess excellent project management skills and can communicate effectively to stakeholders
  • Can identify trending social media content and produce relevant Saints and Pelicans edits that encapsulate those trends
  • Outstanding writing, and proof-reading skills; superior attention to detail
  • Must possess the ability to receive and execute editorial feedback professionally
  • Capable of making reasoned judgments in a timely fashion within a very subjective medium
  • Strong quantitative analysis skills to interpret data
  • Passion and understanding of football, basketball, digital and social media
  • Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as dictated by games and the NBA and NFL schedules
  • Ability to deliver quality work in a fast-paced, high-volume, deadline-driven environment
  • The ideal candidate is upbeat, enthusiastic, committed, proactive, and loves to learn
  • Experience shooting with modern DSLR cameras is a plus
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required by the NFL/NBA schedules
