As a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP), your responsibilities include:
- Conducting school-based evaluations to identify students’ speech and language needs
- Implementing IEP-directed therapy services and documenting progress
- Performing comprehensive evaluations for initial eligibility or re-evaluation
- Developing and implementing IEPs and attending IEP meetings as part of a collaborative team
To excel as a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP), you will need:
- California SLP License (required)
- Experience working in a school setting as an SLP (preferred)
- Experience as a direct member of IEP teams
- Proficiency in conducting assessments to determine therapy interventions
