The State is seeking an intern to help us with our fall college sports seasons.
The intern will demonstrate commitment to fairness and accuracy, in fact, and in tone, and a strong grounding in journalism ethics. Like all journalists at The State, the intern must have demonstrated the desire and skills to build audience loyalty, engagement, and growth around compelling public service journalism.
This is a Columbia, SC-based position that will cover the South Carolina football team and men's basketball team, and contribute to all of our USC Gamecocks sports coverage.
Minimum Requirements
Strong writing and reporting skills and excellent news judgment
Unwavering commitment to accurate, ethical journalism
Demonstrate the ability to use social media platforms such as Facebook and Twitter to reach audiences
