Sr. Director Sales – Core Markets

As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, the Senior Director of Sales – Core Markets will report to the President and assume a strategic role in the overall management of the company. The position is directly responsible for the development and execution of the strategic core product sales strategy across residential, professional contractors, as well as hydroponic markets. This $150M book of business is well-established through fanatical focus on customer needs and delivering superior product quality. This breakthrough sales leader will challenge current selling strategies as well as generate customer curiosity delivering sticky changes in selling behaviors and rapid improvements in sales revenues.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Execute plan to deliver short-term core product revenue targets.
  • Develop long-term plan to deliver YOY revenue growth in core products.
  • Responsible for actively working with Regional Sales Directors on developing, maintaining, and adjusting sales plans, target accounts, and key account assignments, while ensuring that Therma-Stor’s CRM is kept up to date
  • Select, train, supervise and evaluate Sales Leaders and Sales Makers while developing, implementing, tracking, and reporting sales growth plan based on programs, target account opportunities, project tracking and planning
  • Conduct face to-face meetings with customers, spec reps, and sales team to promote company products and services including building relationships internally and externally, and working with spec reps and hybrid distributor principals in establishing criteria and potential locations for expansion, while traveling to work trade shows, open houses, and other promotions as needed
  • Assist in planning, forecasting, and reporting while understanding the pricing dynamics in the assigned market to ensure we are well priced in the marketplace
  • Liaison between major accounts and Therma-Stor, communicating with departments to ensure customer concerns and problems are solved immediately and exceeding customer expectations
  • Plan and control sales personnel, maintain sales volume and sales plans domestically that are in accordance with organizational goals.
  • Balances inventory and sales margins, etc.

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of eight years' of senior sales management experience; preferably for related business.
  • Proficient sales skills with broad knowledge of sales forecasting and sales call planning
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, persuasion, diplomatic, presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Advanced PowerPoint skills (creating and driving presentations weekly)
  • Advanced Excel skills for manual report creation (pivot tables and vlook up proficiency required)
  • Prior experience with CRM (to draft reports and forecasting)
  • Excellent creative problem solving and strategic thinking skills with the ability to develop innovative product strategies
  • Advanced leadership skills to provide clear, credible vision and strategy; inspires others to follow
  • Analytic and decisive decision-making capability with the ability to prioritize and communicate objectives and tactics necessary to achieve organizational goals
  • The ability to establish and maintain excellent relationships in a highly matrixed and collaborative environment
  • The ability to coach, develop, mentor, and motivate staff. Ensure staff receives adequate training to maintain their level of competency (leadership development skills)
  • The ability to ensure compliance with all internal and external management and regulatory controls
  • Project management skills: ability to successfully integrate agile project management methodologies into existing methodologies
  • The ability to lift, move, or adjust general office equipment, boxes, or materials weighing up to 50 pounds using proper materials handling equipment and procedures
  • Individual must possess a valid driver's license in good standing
  • Ability to travel up to 75% of the time needed (domestic and international)
