Job Overview

Suncoast Industries of Florida is seeking an experienced and driven Steel Project Manager to join our project management team. This role is responsible for the overall planning, coordination, execution, and finalization of structural steel construction projects, ensuring they align with company goals and client expectations. The ideal candidate will lead with precision, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and bring expert-level knowledge of steel construction and fabrication to drive project success.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee structural steel projects from inception through completion, ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery
• Define scope, objectives, resources, and deliverables for each project
• Lead planning and implementation phases, and manage multiple concurrent projects
• Supervise and guide Assistant Project Managers and field teams
• Coordinate with general contractors, architects, owners, subcontractors, and internal teams
• Review and manage project budgets, schedules, and performance targets
• Prepare and negotiate project change orders and subcontracts
• Lead drawing reviews, including shop and field drawings
• Ensure compliance with safety policies and OSHA regulations
• Utilize FabSuite (or similar system), MS Project, Excel, and Outlook for project tracking and communication
  
  

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of project management experience, preferably in structural or architectural steel
• High school diploma or GED required; bachelor's degree in Construction Management preferred
• Strong background in steel construction and fabrication
• Proficiency in reading blueprints and construction drawings (AISC, AWS standards)
• Skilled in project budgeting, forecasting, and contract negotiation
• Excellent leadership, delegation, and problem-solving abilities
• Strong interpersonal and client communication skills
• Familiarity with FabSuite or similar fabrication software is a plus
• PMP Certification preferred
