Job Overview

KL Wood and Company LLC is seeking a dynamic and motivated Superintendent -Civil Construction to lead our field operations across residential, commercial, industrial, and government construction projects. As our next Superintendent -Civil Construction, you will oversee job site activity, manage project timelines, coordinate labor and subcontractors, and drive our high-quality standards in civil construction and utilities sitework. Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day site operations for a variety of construction projects.
  • Manage schedules, subcontractors, materials, inspections, and equipment needs.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, local codes, and project specs.
  • Serve as the primary on-site leader and point of contact for field operations.
  • Work closely with project managers, clients, and vendors to maintain timelines and quality.
  • Track project progress and report on scheduling, manpower, and logistics.
  • Solve issues as they arise and provide leadership under pressure.
  • Mentor crews, fostering a culture of accountability, safety, and performance.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Construction Management or 5 years of experience in construction; civil/utilities/sitework preferred.
  • Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills.
  • Flexibility and high motivation with a hands-on, problem-solving approach.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to job sites.
  • Must be comfortable with a hybrid work structure (in-field and light administrative work).
