General Description
This position interacts daily with the public, law enforcement, and other Burke staff. Responsibilities include answering a multiline phone and efficiently directing calls to various staff; processing records requests; inventory and purchasing of supplies in order to maintain availability of essential supplies and material; maintenance of equipment and vehicles; processing invoices; acting as the facility safety officer; maintaining and organizing monthly call records and client surveys; serving as a back-up for other MHEC support staff; and coordination of mail flow. Will maintain effective working relations with consumers and outside agencies and must interact effectively with the clinical and support staff at MHEC to ensure all clinical standards comply. Requires knowledge of word processing and database software programs, typing skills and must have excellent telephone and communication skills. This position is under the direct supervision of the Crisis Program Director. This role will serve as the designated Safety Officer for our facility.
Education
Required: Graduation from an accredited high school or its equivalent.
Experience
Required: One (1) consecutive year of responsible clerical experience with good receptionist skills. Good working knowledge of Microsoft WORD and Excel.
Preferred: Two (2) or more consecutive years of receptionist/office experience, including experience with a multiline phone. Experience working in a mental health or medical setting, and office management experience.
Licenses/Certifications
Required: Valid Texas driver's license
Physical Requirements
Required: Must have visual and auditory skills to handle telephone, receptionist and transcription duties; mobility required to bend, reach, lift (up to 50 lbs.), while carrying charts and equipment during a workday; ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time; fine motor skills for legible handwriting and typing.
Special Requests or Comments
Required: Must be physically able to complete Satori Alternative to Managing Aggressive Behavior (SAMA), CPR, First Aid, and Defensive Driving training modules. Must have a driving record insurable by Burke's insurance administrator.

Monday - Friday; 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

$28,329 annually
