Join our team! Laredo Medical Center's (LMC) Labor & Delivery Department is now hiring a full-time Certified Scrub Tech/LVN to work in our thriving Labor & Delivery Deparment at LMC's 326 bed acute care hospital. The department is a secure department with 2 fully operational OR rooms in the main campus of Laredo Medical Center. This is a busy unit that does an average of 3000 deliveries per year. The Hospital is located in sunny Laredo, Texas, just 150 miles south of historic San Antonio. Read a full position description below.

Position's Purpose and Essential Functions:

Evaluates assigned patients and plans, implements and documents nursing care. Assists physicians during examinations and procedures. Promotes patients' independence by assisting with patient care goals and aides the nurses in teaching patients and families to understand conditions, medications, and self-care skills. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Requires an associate's degree and is certified as a scrub tech or LVN. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.

Applicants Job Requirements Include:

• Required: High School diploma or equivalent required with completion of training as an operating room technician.
• Required: Certification as a CST required, or LVN license.
• Required: 2 Letters of Recommendation.
• Required: AHA CPR.
• Preferred: Surgery experience as LVN or Nurse Tech.
• Preferred: PALS and ACLS preferred. Some may be completed within first 90 days of hire cost-free at the Hospital.
• Must successfully pass any pre-employment assessment(s) required by the facility.
