Supporting the FCC Army and Joint Concept Division, this position requires an applicant who is a self-starter with the ability to prioritize workloads and adjust priorities based on new guidance. Must be comfortable in fluid task environments and frequent engagement with Army/Joint/DoD senior leaders.

Tech Editor : Upon request, write, edit and rephrase concept documents and turn them into outputs for internal and external audiences. Must proof read draft documents and product deliverables to ensure they are grammatically correct and follow Army writing standards in accordance with AR 25-50, Preparing and Managing Correspondence. Prepare and edit visualization products in coordination with the government Army Operating Concept (AOC) Writing Team; Conduct Literature Research, Analysis, and Synthesis to discover, analyze, and synopsize literature that is relevant to the development of new concepts. Research literature includes strategic guidance; potential adversaries and threat descriptions and analyses; Future Operating Environment descriptions, final reports, and recommendations from past wargames, studies, analyses, experiments, tests and reports on emerging technologies; and Joint and Sister Service concepts.

Specific Knowledge, Skills, And Experience Include

• Capacity to work with a great deal of independence and multiple, concurrent efforts without technical supervision and the ability to follow schedules associated with assignments.
• Knowledge of English grammar, writing, proofreading, editing practices, and familiarity with the requirements of DoD policy and regulations
• Knowledge of the specialized grammar and writing guidelines as they pertain to the preparation of Army Concept documents.
• Ability to select, analyze, and present information in an organized, logical, and convincing manner for the intended audience.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, to gain cooperation from others. Skill in writing papers for publication.
• Experience developing and maintaining databases with Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) and Personal Identifiable Information (PII)
  
  

Required

• Bachelor’s Degree: Communications, Journalism, Creative Writing or other related discipline
• Clearance: Secret
• 3+ years of experience with editing publications, on-line publications or similar products
• Desired:
• Experience with DoD/Army preferred
• Experience with basic data analytic tools and methodologies
• Experience with developing graphics or other visualizations in support of document publication
• Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Adobe, Access, and advanced desktop publishing software and their applications to write and edit reports.
  
  

Salary: $70k - $80k

Travel: 10 – 15%
