The Homeless Advocate (Elementary School Focus) will work with the Homeless Coordinator to provide support and advocacy on behalf of students and families experiencing homelessness. The Homeless Advocate will help students and families connect with community agencies and find best transportation options for school stability. This position also works with various LPS personnel to provide academic and basic support services for students and families experiencing homelessness.
Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Education, Human Services or related field preferred.
Experience working with students and families experiencing homelessness, near homelessness, and/or students and families facing circumstances of risk preferred. Experience connecting families to school and community supports preferred.
Calendar: 260-day/8 hrs Pay: $20.27 per hour plus generous leave and benefits
Please note this is a one-year only grant-funded position.
