Community Options has an exciting opportunity within the Behavioral Health Department in the Housing Division as a Tenant Specialist. As a Tenant Specialist, you will provide direct support to tenants at Cooper House or related environment by utilizing a strength-based approach that is rooted in Housing First, harm reduction and trauma-informed care methodologies for tenant to remain housed. you will help clients with career development and planning, financial literacy, and overcoming barriers that impede self-sufficiency. You will use customer service skills and maintain positive interactions with all people during the performance of the job responsibilities.

The salary for this position is $16-$17 depending on experience (DOE). A $3 an hour shift differential will be paid for shifts covered 10:00 p.m. Friday through 10:00 p.m. Sunday. )an hour

Minimum Qualifications

  • Requires a high school diploma or GED, and 2 years of related experience, i.e., human services, customer service, or a related field defined hiring manager. An associate degree may be used in lieu of the 2 years’ work experience and/or degree. (Copies of transcripts are required at the time of offer)
  • This is a non-driving role; however, the incumbent is required to have reliable transpiration to and from the work location
  • Successfully pass a criminal background check, drug screening, and obtain ND Department of Human Service (DHS) pre-employment approval
  • Completion of training as required by Community Options

  • Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, employees are required to have the ability to climb (stairs), balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach (above shoulder), bend, twist, sit, stand, walk, push, pull, lift, grasp, fine motor manipulation, talk, hear, and complete repetitive motions; swimming may be required. Must occasionally lift and/or move objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Employees may be subject to working with customers that exhibit behaviors that would require the employee to use possible physical de-escalation techniques.
  • Work Environment: Employees work in indoor and/or outdoor environments, i.e., office, home, or community setting. Employees are required to operate a motor vehicle and travel as deemed necessary. Assigned work shifts and locations will vary depending on the customers’ and/ or agency needs.
