Job Summary

Works under minimal supervision to plan, develop, and teach English as a Second Language (ESL) courses to international students, postdoctoral scholars, and nonimmigrant employees in a classroom and social settings. Focuses on developing reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills while promoting cultural integration in a supportive and inclusive learning environment. Also are we are to modify job title to "ESL Training Specialist" instead of "Training Specialist"?

Required

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

  • Education Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Education, Personnel Management, or related field
  • Experience 3 years of experience in development and use of training methods, techniques, and materials May consider additional years of related experience in lieu of degree.

Job Duties

  • Plans, organizes, administers, conducts, and coordinates in-service training and educational programs.
  • Confers with management and line supervision to determine need and scope of training programs.
  • Develops curriculum and lesson plans or other appropriate methods of presentation.
  • Conducts training sessions, organizes lectures, and prepares training manuals and materials, visual aides such as slides and films, and other training implements.
  • Maintains records of training activities, and evaluates applicability and effectiveness of programs.
  • Recommends policies and procedures relating to training activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
