Key Responsibilities

• Assist Senior Estimators in reviewing plans, specifications, and bid documents for commercial underground utility and site development projects
• Perform accurate quantity take-offs for water, sewer, and storm drainage
• Organize bid documents and maintain current project folders and bid logs
• Support pricing exercises by gathering vendor quotes and subcontractor bids
• Input quantities, costs, and vendor pricing into Excel-based or software estimating tools
• Pre-bid meetings, and internal reviews to understand field conditions and project logistics
• Help prepare scope sheets, bid clarifications, and RFI submissions as needed
• Maintain updated subcontractor and supplier contact lists
• Ensure timely delivery of estimating tasks and meet internal deadlines for bid submissions
• Collaborate with Project Managers, Field Superintendents, and Vendors to improve bid accuracy and communication
  
  

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in construction, civil estimating, or project coordination preferred
• Basic knowledge of underground utilities and civil construction methods
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with tools like Bluebeam, PlanSwift, or HCSS is a plus
• Strong math and analytical skills, with great attention to detail
• Highly organized, with strong time management skills and the ability to handle multiple deadlines
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
• Self-motivated and eager to learn from experienced professionals
• Background in construction management, civil engineering, or related field preferred
