Youth Education Manager, Alpha - $200,000/year USD - #307665

Crossover

Date: 2 days ago
City: Paterson, NJ
Salary: $100 per hour
Contract type: Full time
  • On-site locations: Beverly Hills, CA; Piedmont, CA; Greenwich, CT; Boca Raton, FL; Miami, FL; Boston, MA; Raleigh, NC; New York City, NY; Seattle, WA (relocation assistance available)
  • $200,000 annually, paid weekly | Health, dental, and vision benefits begin day one

The most meaningful support you can offer a student who achieves 99% is to withhold calling it 100%. Not out of indifference—but because you know they're capable of reaching full mastery, and accepting less would be the true disservice. If that principle resonates, continue reading. If it feels too demanding, this position will likely prove difficult.

Students at Alpha don't attend passive lectures. They advance through adaptive learning applications at double the speed of conventional classrooms while developing practical life skills simultaneously. Your responsibility is ensuring three core commitments are fulfilled for every student in your cohort: they develop genuine enthusiasm for learning, they progress at 2x the standard rate, and they acquire capabilities beyond what traditional curricula provide. You will also develop the Guides who uphold these commitments throughout your campus.

All actions are informed by evidence, and every interaction is conducted in person. Your time divides between your dedicated student group and the Guides under your leadership—and expectations remain consistent for both: documented advancement without compromise. When a Guide's session underperforms, you don't generate documentation; instead, you observe directly, conduct a debrief, and implement corrections that same afternoon.

You'll witness reserved students presenting with confidence before adult audiences. You'll observe learners who previously "despised school" requesting to remain after hours. And you'll recognize that the standard you maintained is precisely what enabled their transformation, because upholding high expectations demonstrates your belief in their potential.

You may be establishing a completely new campus from the ground up and creating the foundational culture that will characterize the institution. As operations stabilize, your emphasis transitions from hands-on operator to coaching leadership, cultivating the team that expands Alpha's approach across your territory.

If this opportunity appeals to you, submit your application now.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Facilitating one-hour interactive life skills and social-emotional learning (SEL) sessions with K-8 students covering subjects such as public speaking and concentration, adhering to Alpha's established framework
  • Conducting daily engagement sessions that motivate 100% of students toward their weekly application-based objectives through age-appropriate mechanisms including school currency and performance rankings
  • Developing Guides via direct observation, specific feedback, and practical training so they execute sessions with equivalent energy and accuracy
  • Analyzing Coachbot data and individual student records to pinpoint those requiring support, then providing direct intervention
  • Personally mentoring your assigned student cohort, demonstrating the coaching and engagement techniques you require from all Guides

What You Won’t Be Doing

  • Creating lesson plans or developing instructional content. Students engage with adaptive applications; your focus is elevating the people who support them.
  • Delivering traditional classroom lectures. Your role is 80% performance and engagement, 20% content expertise; if you prefer standing at a whiteboard, this position won't suit you.
  • Compromising standards due to pressure from parents or administration. When a student reaches 99%, the response is "not yet"—and you'll receive institutional support to maintain that boundary.
  • Working from an office processing administrative documents. The majority of your time involves direct engagement with students and Guides.
  • Delaying performance conversations for scheduled reviews. Outcomes are visible in real-time through Coachbot, and adjustments occur immediately.
