The Youth Program Facilitator is responsible for creating, planning, coordinating, and facilitating youth programming designed to support positive youth development, leadership, life skills, educational success, and community engagement. This position serves as the primary facilitator for youth groups and activities, establishing positive relationships with youth participants, and creating a welcoming environment that encourages participation and growth.
The Youth Program Facilitator serves as an initial point of contact for youth entering programming, assists youth with identifying goals and accessing resources. This position works collaboratively with Family Resource Center staff, community partners, and the Youth Program Supervisor to ensure quality programming and meaningful engagement opportunities for youth throughout San Joaquin County.
The ideal candidate will possess strong facilitation skills, creativity, flexibility, high energy, and a passion for working with youth in diverse community settings.
Reports to: Site Manager
Hours: 40 hours per week; this role may also require work on occasional evenings and/or weekends.

Essential Functions May Include, But Are Not Limited To
- Develops, plans, and facilitates weekly youth group activities, workshops, program curriculum and supports youth and program goals.
- Creates engaging lesson plans, agendas, and activities that support youth development and program objectives.
- Establishes initial contact and positive relationships with youth participants.
- Creates a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment that promotes youth engagement and participation.
- Assists youth in identifying goals, strengths, interests, and opportunities for growth.
- Connects youth with appropriate resources, services, and support systems.
- Facilitates youth programming at Family Resource Centers with active youth groups, as assigned.
- Assists with participant recruitment, case management, outreach activities, and community engagement efforts.
- Supports the Youth Program Supervisor with program planning, special events, workshops, and youth-focused initiatives.
- Maintains attendance records, program documentation, and required data collection.
- Assists with evaluating program effectiveness and participant outcomes.
- Coordinates activities and services with community partners, schools, and collaborating agencies.
- Participates in community meetings, outreach events, trainings, and collaborative initiatives.
- Maintains a positive, professional, and youth-centered approach in all interactions.
- Works collaboratively with CPF staff, community partners, and stakeholders to support youth success.
- Adapts to changing schedules, program needs, and last-minute adjustments as necessary.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Demonstrated ability to engage and build rapport with youth from diverse backgrounds.
- Strong facilitation, presentation, and group management skills.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining effective collaboration with team members.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills.
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing circumstances and program needs.
- Creativity, flexibility, and enthusiasm in developing youth activities and programming.
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office and electronic documentation systems.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all aspects of work.
- Must provide reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and proof of insurance.
- Must pass background clearance and TB test.
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
- Associate degree in Human Services, Social Work, Education, Child Development, Psychology, Recreation, or related field preferred.
- Relevant experience working with youth may be substituted for educational requirements.
- Minimum one year of experience working with youth, adolescents, or young adults in educational, recreational, community-based, or social service settings preferred.
- Experience facilitating groups, workshops, or youth activities preferred.
- Experience working with diverse populations and multicultural communities preferred.
- Experience in community-based or neighborhood-based programming preferred.
- Sit for extended periods of time.
- Stand and walk for extended periods of time, bend over, reach overhead, grasp, push, pull and move, lift and/or carry at least 30 pounds to waist height.
- Work indoors in a standard office environment as well as outdoors for outreach, youth activities, and community engagement events.
- Travel between CPF sites and community locations as needed.
