Apply

This is a home based position located in New York City, NY. You will be required to live in and call on architects in the New York Metropolitan Area.

Are you a person who loves to be challenged? Do you enjoy meeting people and fostering trusted relationships? Do you like learning new skills and applying them to your work habits? Do you know about architectural product sales, and are you ready to be part of an energized team? If so, we have an Architectural Consultant position that may be perfect for you.

ASSA ABLOY is a worldwide leader dedicated to providing a safe, secure, and accessible building environment. Our nationwide team of consultants work closely with architectural professionals advising on the design and specification of door openings. We accomplish this through Openings Studio, our award winning BIM software used to specify 3D doors, hardware and access control.

In this role, you can picture yourself as a vital consultant to the architect and design team. You are given the freedom to navigate your path to achieve success in the market. Your goal will be to drive positive, sustaining relationships with key influencers and to create brand demand through educating, facilitating, and promoting ASSA ABLOY Opening Solutions.

You can expect to be part of a diverse and talented team with colleagues dedicated to mutual support and success.

Key areas you will contribute in this role include:

  • Cultivate consulting relationships with architectural design team influencers and specifiers

  • Identify and secure opportunities to prepare door and hardware specifications

  • Provide timely and accurate product information for use in commercial project specifications

  • Deliver targeted continuing educational programs highlighting new products, solutions, and design-assist professional services

  • Assist with product substitution and approval procedures and follow up to ensure specifications are held in the bid process

  • Utilize Salesforce.com as a customer relationship, project tracking and time management tool

What you will be doing

You will work alongside a committed team of professional consultants who are focused on providing specification support and services to many of the top architectural firms in the country. You will serve as the point-of-contact for the architect's education, specification, client satisfaction and technical support needs. You will be responsible for architectural development, project tracking and ultimately gaining approval for our internal team of writers to prepare Division 08 door and hardware specification documents. You will promote adoption of the Openings Studio BIM tool and present project proposals for value-added professional services.

What we are looking for

  • You are a self-motivated, organized individual with a passion for brand specific product promotion and specification. You are known for follow-up habits and driven to satisfy your client's needs and to deliver above expectations. You’re a strong communicator, active listener, and negotiator. You can work independently, but believe in teamwork. Your background includes a College/University degree (preference for specialization in related curricula such as: architectural design/engineering/drafting, construction science/management, business, or similar). Industry related experience in architectural representation, specification writing, or construction management, will be considered in lieu of degree. Working knowledge of Autodesk Revit or GRAPHISOFT Archicad is a plus. You have the ability to travel upon request within an assigned territory and able to perform responsibilities in a home office environment. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs of sample and display material for sale presentations.

"Let’s open the doors to the future – together!

Working for ASSA ABLOY means that you will be part of a dynamic environment, developing innovative solutions to improve our customers' lives. As the global leader in door opening solutions we are using the latest technologies to open doors to events, hospitals, education, homes, hotels, airports and businesses. Joining ASSA ABLOY means being part of a fast-moving company with many opportunities.

Would you like to join us in opening doors of the future?"
