As a Child Life Specialist, in the Child Life department at Children's Health, you will play an important part in helping children get the care they need and contributing to our mission of making life better for children.
As an active participant on the interdisciplinary team, you will be responsible for helping patients and patient families cope with the stress of hospitalization by assessing patient psychosocial and developmental needs during hospitalization.
This will be a Sunday-Thursday schedule working 1pm-9:30pm. It will be primary covering the Emergency Room with some inpatient coverage on Sundays.
In this role, you will be expected to: have Child Life Specialist.
- Creates a developmental plan for the facilitation of therapeutic interventions,
- Responsible for helping patients and patient families cope with the stress of hospitalization by assessing patient psychosocial and developmental needs during hospitalization, and
- Document patient's developmental needs, coping and plan to facilitate mastery in patient medical records and recognize,
- Work at our Plano, TX campus.
Completed Child Life Specialist Internship it is required
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is required
